1. Integrated Management System (IMS)
Oxford Environmental Consultants Limited operates an Integrated Management System (IMS) aligned to the requirements of:
- BS EN ISO 9001:2015 — Quality Management Systems.
- BS EN ISO 14001:2015 — Environmental Management Systems.
- BS EN ISO 45001:2018 — Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
The IMS is certified by Citation / Atlas — an accredited UKAS certification body. Certification numbers and certificates are available on request.
2. Scope of certification
The certified scope covers: "The provision of property compliance consultancy, surveying and remedial oversight services, including asbestos management, fire safety, water hygiene, damp & mould assessment, building safety compliance and construction-related remedial works, delivered across commercial, residential, industrial and institutional premises in the United Kingdom."
3. Organisational boundaries
The IMS applies to: Oxford Environmental Consultants Limited and its trading brands Firesurv Group Ltd and Mouldsurv Ltd. It covers all employees, authorised sub-contractors and agents operating on our behalf.
4. ISO 9001 — Quality
Our Quality Management System (QMS) ensures consistent delivery of technical services that meet client, statutory and regulatory requirements. It covers tender review, survey delivery, technical peer review, reporting, complaint handling, client feedback and continual improvement — as documented in our Quality Manual.
5. ISO 14001 — Environmental
Our Environmental Management System (EMS) identifies, controls and continually reduces the environmental aspects and impacts arising from our activities. Key controls cover: asbestos waste management under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 duty of care; fleet fuel efficiency and driver-behaviour monitoring; laboratory supply chain engagement; energy use in our offices; and digital-first reporting to reduce paper consumption. We maintain an Environmental Aspects Register and objectives for carbon reduction aligned with the UK net-zero ambition.
6. ISO 45001 — Occupational Health & Safety
Our Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS) protects the people working for and alongside us. It covers: hazard identification and risk assessment; permit-to-work regimes on higher-risk sites; health surveillance for asbestos-exposed roles; PPE provision; incident reporting and RIDDOR compliance; worker consultation and participation; sub-contractor competence management; and continual improvement via leading and lagging indicators.
7. Management review
Top management reviews the IMS at least annually in accordance with ISO 9001 Clause 9.3, ISO 14001 Clause 9.3 and ISO 45001 Clause 9.3. Review inputs include: the status of actions from previous reviews; changes in external and internal issues; feedback on the performance of the IMS (non-conformities, audit results, monitoring & measurement, compliance obligations, KPIs); adequacy of resources; effectiveness of actions taken to address risks and opportunities; opportunities for continual improvement; and changes affecting the management system.
8. Audit programme
An integrated internal audit programme is maintained, covering all clauses of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 annually as a minimum. External certification audits are conducted by Citation / Atlas on a 3-year cycle of re-certification with annual surveillance audits.
9. Competence and training
All personnel are competent for the roles they perform, supported by: recruitment against documented role profiles; a structured induction; technical authorisation procedures (BOHS P402 / P403 / P404 for asbestos; IFSM / FDIS for fire; competent-assessor status for Legionella); continuing professional development (CPD); and documented records retained on file.
10. Documented information
The IMS includes all documented information required by the standards — including policies, objectives, procedures, the Risks & Opportunities Register, competence and training records, audit and management review outputs, corrective-action records and customer feedback. Documents are controlled through a version-controlled document-management system.
